Growing an Emotional Brain
FILM TWO in the series “BREAKDOWN OR BREAKTHROUGH”
ANIMATION by TOM SENIOR and AMY ROSE
15 minute documentary
We are not born with a brain that can think about our emotions. We are born with a brain that is bombarded with sensations and feelings, stuff but has no idea what they are or where they come from. In the first few years of life, site we grow a brain that is able to feel love, patient rage or fear, recognise emotions and process them.
This film is about how our brains grow, and how the way our brain grows affects how we deal with emotions throughout our lives. Understanding the neurobiology highlights just how crucial our emotional environment is during this time, and how early intervention can create profound and lasting change.
